Alexander Military shelter for the elderly and crippled soldiers - heroes of Russian-Ottoman war for the liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule

In 1878, near the village of Vsehsvaytskaay and Vsehsvaytskaay Grove were laid the construction of the Alexandrovskoe military Shelter for the elderly and crippled soldiers – the memders of the Russian-Ottoman war for the liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule. A considerable area in the pine forest, adjacent to Vsehsvaytskaay grove was cleared for the Alexandrovskoe military Shelter. It was laid a regular park, was built fifteen log houses with two apartments, each for 4-6 residents and farm buildings: the house of administration, the business house, the brick bathhouse, the barracks building and drugstore, where the clinik was located. The drugstore was available to neighboring population. The most of the buildings was constructed on private donations.

The following was written on the arch: «Based in August 20, 1878. Under the highest patronage of the Empress. The Aleksandrovskoe shelter of the crippled soldiers».

In 1881, at the initiative of the Grand Duke Nicholas in the territory of the Shelter was built the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky in memory of murdered Tsar Alexander II.

Next to the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky was built the royal pavilion in the form of hexagonal summer house, which was adorned with marble busts of Alexander II, Alexander III.

After 1917, the Aleksandrovskoe military shelter was destroyed. The Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky was closed in 1923. It was completely destroyed to the 60-th of XX century.
In the 20 years of the XX century a recreational park appeared in its place, and it was named "Chapaevsky." "Chapayevsky Park" is located near the metro area "Airport" in the Northern Administrative District of Moscow. The residential skyscraper «Triumph Palace» was built on the site of the fraternal graveyard of disabled soldiers in 2006.

The northern part of the territory of the "Park" that housed Alexander Military shelter, managed to defend and it has been preserved to this day.
