The electronic map

The aim of the electronic map is to contribute for opening a space for a solid dialogue between the different memories of the Russian-Ottoman war (1877-1878). Besides of this the map has didactic and cognitive purposes. It will make easy both the acquaintance with the places related to the war memory and the research of their history and historical personalities. It will serve also as a basis for presenting the existing touristic routes and for elaborating new routes as a result of the established dialogue.  The electronic map will be developed by adding new information achieved in the workshops. It will start as a map of the existing places of memory and monuments in the different countries adding in the process new places as a result of the work in the archives and libraries outlining new places related to the war memory. We should add also places and histories concerning the participation of women, minorities and other groups neglected by the official memory policies.
