Commemorative plaques with the names of the Cavaliers of the Order of St. George in the  Building of the General headquarters(Dvortzovaay Square, 6/8, St. Petersburg)

The Building of the General headquarters was designed by the architect Carlo Rossi in 1819-1829.
After the Russian-Ottoman war of 1877 – 1878. in St. George's Hall were installed the  plaques with the names of Cavaliers of the Order of St. George - the participants of this war.
Commanders of the Order were 335 soldiers and officers of the Russian army:
the first degree – 2 persons;
the second degree  -  8 persons;
the third degree -  37 persons;
the fourth degree – 288 persons.
In 1917, the plaques were destroyed.
The recreation of the commemorative plaques with the names of Cavaliers of the Order of St. George in George Hall of the General headquarters was in 2004.
