The monument at the mass grave of the sailors of the steamship "Vesta"
(Sevastopol’, 1800)

In 1880, the monument was erected in the mass grave of the sailors of "Vesta", who died in the battle in Sevastopol.

Description of the monument:

The monument is made in the form of a cross-shaped rusticated pylons mounted on a stepped base. On the front edge pylon - a cross dark polished granite and two guns raised vertically. Along the perimeter of the monument were  mounted the cast-iron cores, and on the sides - the memorial inscriptions on the cast-iron boards with the names of all those killed in the battle July 11, 1877.

In November 2012 it was decided to build  the chapel of the Apostle Philip in this place. With the blessing of the Metropolitan of Semferopolay and  Crimea the prayer for blessing of the  construction the  new chapel has been served.
